Taste, Memory & Culture
How many times, upon tasting a certain dish, have you thought: "This reminds me of..." or "This is like my Mom/Grandma used to make it"?
Besides nourishing our bodies, food plays another important role: this of the memory keeper.
No matter how cosmopolitan we may feel we have become, our first beloved foods remain alive within us and can become mysteriously powerful.
Scientific research shows that images and aromas from our childhood can activate our cultural identity and unconsciously guide behavior associated with that identity, especially, when living abroad.
Join us on a trip through flavors, aromas and textures, starting with a presentation by Katerina Pouliasi, and ending with a buffet, prepared by Caterina Tzoridou.
